FAQS

Have your villas been totally quality assessed?

Yes, all four villas have been graded as 5 star self catering accommodation under the quality in tourism assessment service provided for VisitBritain.

Do you provide short breaks?

Yes, we can provide 3, 4 and 5 night short breaks outside of the main holiday season.

What is the security deposit?

The security deposit of £200.00 is required before arrival to cover any damages of breakages that happen while you are staying in the property. This will be refunded within two weeks of your departure.

Do you send reminders for balances?

Yes, we will contact you before the balance due date.

Can we change names of people in our party after we have booked?

Yes, however, we must know in writing and in advance, the names of the guests, their ages and the dates they are staying, there will also be a small charge of £25.00. This is very important. The overnight total must not exceed the maximum number the property is advertised as accommodating.

Do we know how to get to the property?

Directions will be sent to you after full payment has been received.

Who do we contact when we arrive?

Contact details of our housekeeper will be sent to you prior to arrival. Usually we arrange for you to contact the housekeeper a couple of days before arrival so she approximately knows what time you will be arriving in order to meet you.

What time can we arrive and when do we depart?

Usually after 4.00pm, however arrival times can be discussed with our housekeeper. You should leave before 10.00am on the day of departure.

Are linen and towels provided?

Yes, all linen and towels are provided. However we do not supply cot linen. Towels provided can not be used as beach towels!

Do you provide Cots and Highchairs?

Yes, we provide cots (no linen) and highchairs on request, free of charge.

Is there a telephone?

Unfortunately we do not supply telephones within our villas.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately no pets are allowed.

Is there parking?

There is room for parking for two cars on the driveway with additional parking within the private cul-de-sac.

Can I smoke?

There are no smoking rules within the villas, although we respectfully request no smoking in the bedrooms.

Is there central heating?

Yes

If you wish to find out any more about the facilities we offer please contact us.

Can we invite friends over?

Yes, but the number of people we state the property ‘sleeps’ is the maximum permitted to stay in it or use its facilities. That does not mean you can not invite a few friends for a meal. However, it very much means they can not stay the night (only those named on your booking form can do that), or camp nearby and come round every day. You can not throw a party involving extra people at the property without making special arrangements with the owner. In any case, we must always know who will be at the property and when.

What if we are not happy?

Please contact our housekeeper or ourselves and we will try and rectify the problem as soon as possible.

What is there to do?

North Devon is full of a variety of many attractions. All ages will find something to suit them. We provide a manual in the villa for you to look through with a number of places to visit, restaurants, and important things to see.

Are you situated near a beach?

Yes, the nearest beach is 200metres away. Although Combe Martin beach is a rocky / sandy cove, the nearest most infamous beach is Woolacombe and Saunton stretching miles of sand only 10 minutes drive away.

Where is the nearest town?

Nearest commercial town is Barnstaple – approximately 20 minutes drive. Here you will find high street shops, Barnstaple Pannier Market and great place to buy local produce.

Do we need to clean the property before we leave?

Yes, please. We clean all properties between lets, but PLEASE leave yours clean otherwise we will charge £50.00 out of your security deposit if your villa is not left decent. We otherwise have a terrible struggle to have it thoroughly clean for the next guests.

Is there anything else we should know?

Many supermarkets provide delivery services to even quite rural areas which can be handy. If you are planning on walking there are many beautiful places in the West Country that are not accessible by car but are via footpaths, so bring a pair of walking boots or your wellies. If you want to walk to the pub, remember to bring a torch.

North Devon roads away from the main ones are often narrow and so are village streets. Take care and be prepared and willing to reverse to a passing place if your car is the nearest to one. When judging the time it will take to get somewhere, bear in mind a mile on a country lane can take 10 minutes (or more). Country roads are rarely lit by artificial light, frequently have high banks and can be muddy after wet weather.

The countryside is seldom silent: cows moo, sheep baa, cockerels crow, rooks caw, owls screech, blackbirds sing, so come prepared for these hazards!
